In the use of the cam rotary indexer, the damage of the cam will cause the rotary indexer to jam. On the one hand, the metal debris caused by the damage will jam the mechanism. On the other hand, the rotary indexer can still operate normally, but it will be at each station. If a regular gap is generated, then, in this case, it is necessary to consider the maintenance or replacement of the input cam for the rotary indexer.
The damage of the cam is rarely seen in the rotary indexer, because most of the cams are made of steel with a hardness of 58-62HRC, and the surface has undergone a high-temperature carburizing treatment process. The carburized coating surface can be up to 1.2 mm, it not only guarantees the characteristics of surface hardness, but also has the metal toughness of the product structure. Therefore, most of the damaged parts in the rotary indexer will first occur on the needle roller bearing on the output turret. Needle roller bearings are actually made of wear-resistant and impact-resistant materials, but compared to cams, they belong to a combined structure. In the case of overload operation, they are still at a disadvantage compared with the physical parts of the cam. .
In the Mechanical transmission, when the needle roller bearing is damaged, there will be a gap in the fixed station. In the use of a multi-station disc machine, there may even be two or more irregular gaps, and the needle roller is deformed or The damage cannot be repaired and can only be replaced. It is recommended to return the rotary indexer to the factory for inspection and repair when a similar situation occurs.
